From the North: Follow State Highway 3 South through Hamilton (3 hrs), Te Kuiti (2 hrs), Mokau (1 hr),then along the coast right into New Plymouth. From the South: Follow State Highway 3 North through Bulls (2.5 hrs), Whanganui (2 hrs), Hawera (50 mins) and Stratford (30 mins) up to New Plymouth. Alternatively, the beautiful Surf Highway 45 around the western side of Mount Taranaki is a scenic route that will add 30 minutes to your journey, but is well worth it. Once in New Plymouth, follow the signs to the i-Site and Port onto Molesworth Street/St Aubyn Street along the waterfront. Turn from St Aubyn Street onto Belt Road towards the coastline, 1.5km from either the city centre and the Port.
