The Aotea Food Challenge
There are limited options for buying food on Aotea Great Barrier. Tryphena is the only place with a variety of options, including an excellent café from morning through mid-afternoon, an Irish pub, a social club restaurant for fish and chips or burgers and a grocery store. These places are located within a stone’s throw of the coast, so an easy option is to take some food to the nearby beach. A top spot is above the beach opposite the Stonewall Store, enjoying a snack and coffee while taking in the view.
